Vectorstyle question. 2003-12-03 - By Thomas Stump
Back Hi Mike,
Nice house...
I may be going out on a limb here, but I'm pretty sure VectorStyle ? la Carrara does not handle textures. VectorStyle is using the RAViXII motor (I think). The RAViXIII motor, found in Swift3D V3 supports texture maps.

<Quoting> from the user guide: Finally we come full circle to raster output I have to laugh when I tell people we're excited to be rendering raster output from Swift 3D V3. We've always been very conscious of explaining to people that we're a Flash-specific tool focus completely on vector-based 3D. Up until now this has meant vector import only in the of AI and EPS and vector output only in the form of SWF, AI, EPS and SVG.Well, all I have to is, "the times they are a changing." By using Swift 3D V3 you are now the proud owner of a ray tracing rendering engine in addition to the industry leading RAViX vector renderer.
This new technology at your command is named EMO (it stands for Electric Motion if you're and it's capable of some serious raster rendering. Now you're not just limited to creating based 3D content, and that can mean whatever you want it to. Photorealism, bitmap raster file export (JPEG, BMP, PNG, etc.) are just a few of the new options you have the inclusion of the EMO Ray Tracing engine under the Swift 3D hood. And to top things off, can stuff your wild raster renderings into sheep's clothes by creating bitmap-based SWF import into Flash better than any raster formats out there. </Quoting>
Frankly, I haven't tested it. I've been a bit wary of the camera handling (and the fact that different parts of my model came in rotated at different angles)..but, hey! I'm a whacker in this program.
