If you missed it the group did an informal "rendering speed" comparison
using Carrara 2.1 (Carrara 3 is much faster at this test scene).  The
results are here:

Not many people gave numbers for Macs but there are some results at the
bottom of the above page.  In general, Carrara did a pretty good job (better
than some other 3D products I've seen) of utilizing the second CPU.
