I can't speak for either Vue or Studio 3, since I'm working (or not working :( ) with 2.1, but for anyone who's used the terrain editor in Bryce, the terrain editor in 2.1 is inadequate. Even the overview while you're working on it..... Bryce's strength is the huge amount of filters that can be applied, the different terrain types, the easy import and blending of other heightmaps, the control of texturing-by- elevation on terrain. I've given up on using the terrain editor in Studio 2.1, just make and texture terrains in Bryce, and bring them into Studio 2.1 to add things to.
Must admit that I keep sneaking back to Bryce all the time. For anyone interested in making game environments, Bryce for terrain and Terragen for skyboxes produces a much better environment.
