If this is a gear stick with a knob on top (at the terminus of the splines), modeled as one piece in the spline modeler, then you could convert it to a vertex model so you can change the UV texture mapping.
Better still, make the knob as a separate vertex object.
The logo will be placed on the very top surface of the knob, I presume. You could use decal texturing with a mask, but you will need to orient the mesh or make it in such a way that a decal can be placed effectively. There is a ready-made decal shader in the browser tray that you could try for starters, red rectangle on blue, easily adapted to use a logo texture map if you have a mask for the logo. It works best on spheres. You might put the logo on a sphere first and then figure out how to make the sphere look like a gear shift knob.
Otherwise, UV mapping may prove a difficult subject to master in just a few hours.
