That's not a fair response, Carl.
There are many of us who still run Mac OS 9 and we aren't
doing it just because we want to. Most of us have to do it
for either software or financial reasons.

Yup. I got that, too.  :-)
But I see no reason to update that machine since I've only
turned it one twice in the past year. Let sleeping dogs lie,
I say.
