There are preferences. They are in the Eovia folder,
in the Preferences folder, in the System folder.
But you might not have any there if you tossed out
the preferences and haven't been able to successfully
launch the program since. You need a successful
launch to build a new preferences file.
Do this: Check for a preferences file. If one is there,
toss it. Then launch the program by double clicking
on the Carrara 3 *application* icon; NOT on a file
icon. That should do it. If you click on a file icon, it
might be trying to open C2 instead. I've had that
happen.
If that doesn't work, run Norton Disk Doctor and
rebuild your desktop.

C3 runs quite well on Mac OS 9.x, but you might want
to install it on OSX, too. It will run fine there.

I hope you mean 300000k which would be the setting
in the Get Info window. I'm sure you mean that, but
you might want to check again.
