It's because Efnet apparently lacks services (chanserv, nickserv). That
means that anyone that comes into the room first becomes an op. If,
like me, join the channel and then forget to leave, no one that comes
after me can get op.
And on the network I'm usually at, being afk or
zzz or whatever, is not considered offensive. In fact, it is
appreciated when you mark yourself as away from keyboard.
Well, I'm still hoping to have a chat someday to share tips, trics,
techniques or whatever about Carrara or even real life, but in my
daytime and eveningtime(i'm GMT+1) no one else joins. Last night, I
waited until 2 am. I found outt in the morning, only 20 minutes after
I've left the regulars joined :(
Anyway, I'll make sure I don't keep the channel in the future, but
maybe we can create a #carrara on a network with services, so this
type of thing won't happen again.
