They never fill up my local mailbox. I save the messages that are
useful and delete all the messages that are not. The useful messages
get filed into a folder so that I can find them at a later date. I can
still search them at will. They are also a permanent part of my
collection and knowlege base, so I don't have to worry about my
connection being up or if the web site is having problems or is slow.
They are always there when I need them.

These are text messages, there is no viruses with them.

I just delete the messages I don't want.

I have no problem with yahoo showing me the URLs in a clickable format
and showing me images and multimedia. Yes, even those geocities links.

This is a HUGE convenience. I already have to go and check my mail, it
makes my life much easier to not have to click mutliple web boards to
find the information I want and then end up missing the threads that I
do care about because it was started in the web board that I rarely
look at.

Convenience, organization and control, those are the reasons I choose
an email list over the web boards.
