Hey All

I've been lurking about a bit on the list having started using XSI a little
while ago but only now starting to spend some quality time with it. Now I've
been building a character in one half with a clone flipped for the other
side and in a separate layer I have a merged version that I generally have
subdivided.

Its basically a simlar setup to whats on the training DVD's except I dont
turn the low res original into a wirframe only display. I just turn the
layers on and off to preview how its going.

Now I know all about freezing the mesh from time to time which I have been
doing but lately my scene was getting really sluggish. To put in a slice it
would take about 4 seconds from clicking for the slice to actually appear.
So i froze the mesh again but no performance benefit. Then I switched to
Immediate mode and it sped up... I expected this as i assume it doesnt have
to bother writing any history. having mucked about in immediate mode I went
back to a previous saved version and now with immediate mode off it is now
back to quite good speed. I have no idea why a switching on and off of
immediate mode should help things especially as I'm now working in a
different scene but it has improved things for the time being. Any light
that anyone can shed on this would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers
