uv coords, set and get, given a polygon face

uv coords, set and get, given a polygon face

I was sort of hoping this was going to be straightfoward and I'm sure I've
done it before. I've a polygon face and I need to read and then write the uv
coordinates of that face. The only uv I can find so far is on triangles,
which isn't a whole lot of use unless I work hard on it. There must be an
easy way, isn't there?
