Son of a Batch: Cannot view batch rendered images

Son of a Batch: Cannot view batch rendered images

Hello,

I can send jobs to the batch server for rendering with no problems,
however, when I click on the image link in the detailed job webpage, I
get the following error.
================================================
Error: image file not found...
\\workstation\softimage\testproject\Rendered_Pictures\test.1.pic

Or the <Username> user can't mount remote drives.
Please check the Apache Service settings.
================================================

I have tried it with UNC names (as seen above). I have also tried
mapping a network drive (\\workstation\softimage to S:\) and resetting
my projects in the project manager to reflect that change. When I map
the network drive, I uncheck the "Convert Drive Letters to UNC checkbox
in the Submit webpage and all the paths look right. Then when I try to
render the job all frames end up in error and my farm reports:

================================================
'ERROR : 2000-FILE-OpenScene - Cannot open scene
S:\testproject\Scenes\testscene.scn
OpenScene , False
Command failed, returned -2147467259
================================================

When installing batch server I followed the instruction to make sure
that apache is not running as the local system account.

================================================
# Edit the Apache service (*Start > Settings > Control Panel >
Administrative Tools > Services*) and force it to log on using a
specific user account instead of the local system account. Now apache
can open \\UNC paths on the network.

This is important during processing because BatchServe makes
web-friendly copies of completed frames available for preview. If Apache
server cannot open \\UNC paths, these images are not accessible.
===============================================

So any ideas on what can I do to see the image priviews through the
links in the batchserve web interface?

Thanks for reading!
