Particle cache and XSIBatchserver

Dunno if it helps, but I always set the simulation file path relative to the
project.

Then I move the frame slider to the last frame and use the simulate button of
the cloud.
If you have saved before simulation, you have to use "save as..".
Simulation is not a scene change and just hitting "save" don't save the scene.

Do a simple test, if you like: Close the scene, open it again, does XSI re
-simulate?

Send the scene to the render farm. Don't use the scene to work until all frames
are rendered.
If you want to work, directly rename the particle file name and save the scene
under a new name.

Haven't tested much with XSI 4.0 and a lot of particles, but this way worked in
XSI 3.x.
(I had a lot of scenes with simulation times of an hour or more)
And it seems that they have not changed a lot for the particles...

Hi list,

I've seen this topic several times on the list but this time we got the pb in
the studio I work actually.

We can't render particules simulation with standard caching. Only standard no
caching works with batchserve.
I'm not a particle specialist and I don't understand why ?

Is it a limitation ?

Cheers,

Guillaume Laforge
