This is a known 'opportunity' for a fix in XSI.
No light lists are persisted across saves ina Ref model.
You can, however, write an OnSave event that stores the light names in a
 custom property, and an on-load event that restores them.
That seems to be the only answer now - I've submitted this info to Soft
so maybe it'll be changed in the future.
