Back Well - I got from : http://www.gregssandbox.com/grules/index.htm - which seems to have dissapeared the following:
PAL Inches width 0.79213 Height 0.59409 mm 20.1201 15.0899
PAL 16/9
Inches 0.792126 0.445591 mm 20.1201 11.318
These work great BTW in the Camera Panel

When you say the Size for a Standard PAL , what is that?
Also, This was from a week ago:
<-- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---8<-- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ----- -- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---> The most comprehensive table of Aperture and Finder Marking sizes I have yet encountered is in "David Samuelson's 'Hands-On' Manual for Cinematographers". http://tinyurl.com/dlbe9 I have an old, weathered, marked-up photocopy close at hand at all times, but it lists film formats only. For video sensors, here are some standard widths (you can compute height from aspect ratio): 1/3" Video (4:3) 4.8mm 1/2" Video (4:3) 6.4mm 2/3" Video (4:3) 8.8mm 2/3" HD Video (16:9) 9.59mm
I got these off the back of a Canon Lens Focus Chart.
Also keep in mind that frames produced by a "proper" film scanner, for film work, are most likely full-aperture (is the image 2048x1556? can you see slight imperfections around the edges and/or radii in the corners?), while images produced by a telecine for broadcast work could very likely be digitally "zoomed", which would throw your aperture size out the window.
Further clouding of the issues involved in manual camera tracking can be found here: http://tinyurl.com/a9gkd

The filmback is for the camera not the broadcast format.
