CPUs and XSI/mental ray...

Very basic question: given the currently available hardware, what's the
best processor for a kick-ass XSI/mental ray workstation? Any noteable
considerations (Cache/motherboards etc)

*sorry, I know this should go to the hardware list, but the reponse is
always minimal!*

There are only 10 sorts of people in the World - those that understand
binary, and those that don't.
