PCI Express graphics card issue? 2005-06-20 - By Andy Jones
Back Hi,
I'm having an annoying little interface problem on some new workstations and wanted to see if anyone has encountered this before. Basically, XSI is giving all its text entry windows the wrong background color. Instead of dark gray and dark blue, I'm getting light gray and white for unselected/selected. This happens, for example, on the SRT inputs on the right side of the default layout and elsewhere in the interface. As far as I can tell, the problem happens on Windows 2000, but not on Windows XP-64. I'm trying Windows XP-32-bit next. The machines I'm having the problem on are dual Opteron K8WE boards with two SLI PCI-Express slots, one of which is filled with a GeForce 6800 card. I've had the same problem with multiple machines, swapping graphics cards in and out. So far, I've tried a 6800 Ultra and a couple of 6800 GT's and the problem is always the same. From this, I've decided the problem must be software-related in some form -- possibly the driver. I've also tried a few different drivers to no avail.
Anyone?
