Ok...You'll make 2 window objects.
One as you want it before it breaks and the second one broken with the XSIShatter plug-in. (http://motionblur.it)
Then you animate the visibility of window1 to hide at the frame you want the window to break(revealing into pieces that make window2)
Now mix animate pieces of glass with rigid bodies, hand animation and particles instances(for the tiny ones)
You'll find particle instancing and rigid body tutorials in the XSI 4.0 manuals . Hope this helps!
