Back please excuse the blatant intrusion. i have searched around and i think i understand what a metaball (or metaform) is, but i don't know "why" a metaball is. can someone provide a small list of uses for metaballs so that i can get a grip on the practicality of them? are they multi-purpose, or do they serve a specific need? basically, what would i use a metaball for?
thanks mark for the videos. the .mov's on your site may be the answer to my questions, but i cannot play them from my "at work" workstation (will check them out for lunch (metaballs for lunch, righteous!)).
