I'm sure no-one expects you to render 4m x 3m at 300 dpi -even Photoshop
will struggle with that size. Aside from anything else there's no point.
Perceived clarity is a function of both actual resolution and the distance
of the observer. 4x3 is going to be viewed a way back from the distance
you'd be looking at, say, a 10x8 inch print. Consider, for example, the
projected size of film. Most film these days is rendered at 2K and I've been
at places where they render at just over 1K because 2K looks too crisp when
laid over live action.
