C++ Compilers? 2005-06-13 - By Raffaele "ThE_JacO" Fragapane
Back Don't quote me on this as it's stuff I've heard, not experienced personally, but on windows the only compilers that will work reliably are VS from versions 6 to 2003a (and I've played a bit with 2005express beta without incurring into major issues), and intel's optimized compiler.
This is for XSI plugins. MRay is maybe more tolerant, but I wouldn't know.
People who tryied alternatives, like Boroland, seemed to have grieves and pain to no end on XSI and Maya.
May I ask why you don't want to use MS'? They even have a free command line version out there.

Is anyone using non MS C++ compilers for windows, like Borland? If so, got any tips on how to set up the environment to work properly for XSI development?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Brad
