Hello 2004-03-20 - By Richard R. "Remnar"
Back Hi every one. It's been quite a long time since I been on the TSML First off for those of you who know me I am a different person today than I was a year or so ago. I know I have a bad rep here for ranting my frustrations. I do have a reason for the way I was and it was because I was severely depressed. However since I have been receiving some treatment I am feeling a lot better now ^_~ Wether or not I stay here will be up to the moderator. Personally I have nothing against anyone, though I do get jealous easily I do not take out such feelings in a unrespectable manner anymore.
Even though I am not an exceptional artist per se, I do have a web site where I seldomly post my 2d and 3d work. Its at http://www.geocities.com/element8mm/index.htm I also run a guild for Phantasy Star Online called PSOElites and that web site is http://www.geocities.com/psoelites/index.htm I am the web master for both sites.
I also have been back to programming some plugins I started a while ago. Some plugins I probably will never finish. However I will finish and complete 2 plugins. Scatter and Lightmanager. Scatter is sort of like a static particle plugin. It works great for adding that "sprinkle" effect. It also has 3 other functions that are useful. 1 is the Gradient Scatter feature. This feature does a gradient effect based on color, shader, size, shape, rotation and location. 2nd is the Null & Metaball particle maker. The name speaks for itself. The 3rd one is the Particle Manager. You can load any kind of object by any means (name, type, group, etc) and adjust there parameters and supports selection methods in a iconized view list, and metaballs. As for the Light Manager, you have access to all the light functions along with selection methods in a iconized view list. Both plugins work hand in hand and I might make a bundle package when they are done. I have other plugins that I am still trying to develop. However until I understand how to code complex nurbs with the api, it will be a while. I had some people test these plugins before, I am looking for a few testers now, preferably i would like to have a tester from Caligari. My plugins are rock solid as I test them myself, however there are subtle things that I tend to miss.
Nothing has changed with my equipment and I havent done anything new in rendering in a while. If you like I can demonstrate the scatter plugin and how light manager is useful as a companion plugin.
In video games, I go by Remnar, however here you can call me Rich or Richard. Also I am wonder how I can get some help in plugin development. Sometimes I get stuck with an api function that isnt working properly. Oh and I still use Delphi 6. Its the only program that allows me the freedom to develop a decent interface quick and easy. I also still have come vc++ knowledge so I can always convert languages if I need to.
