"at least have a way of tying one callback to more than one button or item."

Couldn't you just call a function from more then one callback?
[kim aldis]

you could, but  you don't acheive much because there's no way of telling
what item sourced the callback. In other words, the same action would be
taken regardless of what button was pressed.

By the way, I use logic strings for collecting logic from more then one
external source
[kim aldis]

how do you mean?
