Back Hi Stefan,
It is possible to track down what the problem component is by doing the following:
-Start the registry editor (from a command prompt type "regedit") -In the registry editor look under "MY Computer/CLSID/{06420D44-39FA-11D9-A000 -EA004FAA76CD}/InprocServer32" Under default you should find the name of the DLL which implements this object, from there you should be able to find it.
I know that you are asking for a more user-friendly error message, but this information may help you to track this component down.

So I'm missing a plugin, or a shader... who knows... I think it's time to look over the error logs that are created. We need a less cryptic error message in order to see what's wrong or what to install.
The XSI error message
' - [CLSID\{F20C997D-72AD-48C6-8F31-CA966C381975}] : %SUMATRAPATH%\plugincore.dll 'ERROR : 2000 - Unable to create object [CLSID\{F20C997D-72AD-48C6-8F31-CA966C381975}] : %SUMATRAPATH%\plugincore.dll, Cleanup will be performed.
