Translating UV mapped procedurals?

Translating UV mapped procedurals?

as long as you're aware that it will only flow over the surface of a flat
plane. If the mesh isn't flat then you'd need to think of it more as flowing
through the surface than over it. The most obvious way I can think of is by
animating the support. You've tried that?

3D - it is Holgers 4D Fractal. I know it may be a problem thinking of that
as a flat UV mapped texture, but I could apply this fractal to a grid and
render a flat texture out and apply that to my object with the UV projection
- Q is if I could skip the texture rendering to keep the whole thing
procedural and interactive?

is your procedural 2D or 3D?

Subject: Translating UV mapped procedurals?

I have a procedural texture which I want to flow along the surface of my
object, like a z-translation. Spatial projection and animated z-translation
does not cut it, so I have unwrapped the texture projection and now i need
to move the procedural along the surface using the UVW projection. I may
have missed something basic here but i can't seem to get it to work. I know
I can work around and render the procedural out as a texturemap and put it
back on the surface using the UV's but i'd like to stay procedural and
flexible.

Anybody have ideas?

TIA!
