converting autocad to xsi 2005-06-02 - By Brad Friedman
Back When it comes to autocad stuff, I've had my best luck using 3dexploration from right hemisphere:

The last time I did it, I was moving topographical survey data into Maya. I was quite amazed that 3d exploration read the topographical data, as most other programs that supposedly could read the file, just ignored that data.
Anyhow, its probably worth looking into.
