I rendered the animation without interlacing, but it occurs to me that

If you are sending your animation directly to firewire you can use
fields without problems. You should get "smoother looking" motion.

It also depends on what you want. These days so many people want jerkier
motion in their video so that it looks more like film. That's why many
popular brands are adding frame-style capturing modes on pro and
prosumer camcorders.

While the jerkiness of frame capturing does resemble film, it is the
diffusion of light (attainable through special lenses), the lighting
techniques and the style of camera angles that actually make film look
like film. But people will just buy anything that will magically make
their videos look like the movies (yeah right!). *sigh*

Where is that "render instant art" button again? :)
