I don't really know a whole lot about this mainsoft thing, but from what
I've heard lately, it sounds like it might be even more beneficial to
have a true *nix port of xsi.  Maybe if that were done, it wouldn't be
as much of a hurdle to get an OSX version out.

My other comment is, I'd rather have a more stable and feature-rich XSI
on Windows/Linux than an XSI that runs on more platforms.  
Strategy-wise, I think it makes more sense for SI to keep leveraging the
gaming market to build market-share, then shift focus to projects like
an OSX port once there's a larger user base to support that type of
development.

That said, if having a version of MainSoft that runs on OSX would make
it easy to port XSI to mac, maybe it would be worthwhile even in the
short term.
