Back On a vaguely related note there's been renewed, and much stronger speculation that Apple are looking at using intel chips. http://apple.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=05/05/23/1052218&from=rss
If this happened it may cut down the effort required in a port (perhaps even allow the linux version to work sans porting?)
