Try making your light into a projector and pipe the window texture into
that. Is this what you're after??

Subject: Stain Glass
Hello, I'm trying to create as close to realistic as possible stain
glass, I can create the texture but when I try to get that look scene
from stain glass windows, nothing occurs? I put lights behind the window
and make the colour texture into a transparent texture and plug that
into transparancy but still not the effect that you would expect from a
real stain glass window?
Any Ideas?
