Return to XSI 2005-05-25 - By kim aldis
Back Xsi has come a long way since version 2 and has turned into a good, solid tool for 3D. Much more stable and much more feature rich. It's great advantage is it's adaptability and felxibility, especially for large pipelines. The way it's scripting works, leveraging real-world languages like jscript, Python and Perl, makes it much less of a problem to adapt to your work processes.
Your main concern at this stage will be getting staff with the relevant skills in place for your project, both for the pipeline design and setup and for the project itself.
Post here with questions or feel free to contact me off-line if you wish. And as Todd has alreadys kindly pointed out, our website is at www.cg-soup.com.

Hi list,
Were about to make quiet big shows within really tight schedule.(cause its related to the X-BOX2 launching..)
This show contains lot of high level character animation including complex facial and hair stuffs, so we decided that we gonna use XSI for this show. It was pretty tough decision cause we have pretty bad memory about XSI2.0.. L
So I just want to make sure that it is safe decision.. and also I want to hear about some tips or suggestion about using XSI in pipeline level.
Thanks.
Bj
