You've probably already thought of this but using popcard trees helped
me out in a pinch on one archviz project a buddy and I worked on. You
could at least use them as filler between the instances maybe. How dense
is the resulting particle cloud you froze? If you have access to X-Frog,
it is worth its weight in gold insofar as tree stuff is concerned.
