Bump Map Acceleration 2004-02-19 - By Baker, Ed
Back Thanks,
I'll have to try more when I have more time. But the mapping is set up properly . . .2 differeent faces (of the coin that is) with ridges around the outside. I'll have to check my card, don't know much about the work one, and just got a new machine at the house.

Ed,
It bump mapping seems to work for me here.
I have a geforce4 ti 4200 using quadro 4 drivers with the softquadro4 patch. It seems to work best for me under directx than OpenGl - although both do work. Just tested it with 1 simple scene and one more complicated scene and both worked. One thing to note, if you are updating the textures as you go along, they may not update in the solid view properly. It also only shows bump textures, not bump shaders.
Another thing to check is your UV mapping, if it is a coin then default mapping is probably cylindrical, so you wont see your bump map on the top until you assign the top face to be planar.
