bugs 2005-05-07 - By Nick
Back I've had these every day for 6 months and every time I had a crash, I used their tool for sending the crash data to them (sorry, right in the middle of a move have no access to a machine with XSI on it and I can't recall the name for it...). I figured that if I sent enough, they'd eventually get the idea of just how much the software is buggy (with openGL) and painful to use on a daily basis... but to be fair to the Soft people, I'm not sure if it's an XSI thing (with the new arrival of openGL, directX and CG displays being supported) or the new generation of NVidia cards and the new PCIExpress stuff and dodgy new drivers from NVidia... either way, it's been a huge pain ever since 4.0... being using the new gen hardware and not being able to test with older cards/drivers I don't know... either way it makes it really hard to work with the Animation Editors... In a way, I'm glad I'm not the only experiencing this, I thought I was going completely insane... that was just the tip of the iceberg as we were doing all our work with real-time shaders and captures from the viewports...
