Well I should rather say that I have been using XSI since 1.5 and never had
any of these problems except the interface intermittance caused by network
slow-downs. That did not happen full-time, only when the network was having
difficulties with traffic and such.

Since many people at your studio encounter similar problems, I would
investigate a different area than XSI: graphic card+drivers, hardware, and
so on. Plus, has the QFE you are using been tested before being deployed? In
the past it happened that I had to revert to older versions of QFE because
the latest one(s) didn't help anything.
