when generating a rendermap where can I find the mi it create? on linux? 2005-04-29 - By Alan Jones
Back Hi Alexandre,
I would doubt that any .mi file actually gets generated. XSI's .scn files are compatible with xsi's integrated renderer (not ray3.exe just xsi.exe's integrated MR). So as opposed to in maya where there is a translator that converts the maya scene into a mental ray scene there is no such layer within XSI. So seeing there's no option to output a .mi file specifically for this I'd say your stuck with trying to hack the .mi file you can export into appropriate shape yourself.
Cheers,
Alan.
