Hello All,
I am using a few rigged files from the book "Learning Maya 5.0/Rigging and Animation" for my intro to animation class exercises. The problem is that when we batch render the animation done on some of those sample files the entire character sinks into the ground. When I play the scene within Maya or playblast render the character does not sink. Worse yet is that I cannot replicate the problem consistently on different machines. Five out of 20 students had the same problem rendering the same file on different machines with the same version of Maya and same OS (WinXP). I never saw this problem before, and its hard to understand what would cause such a difference. There are no dynamics in the scene, just basic keyframes, and all animation curves look reasonable.
Has anyone seen this problem before?
I posted a playblast rendered movie and a batch rendered movie showing the problem at http://www.rit.edu/~tflaxman/maya/.
Thanks,
Tereza
