What artists ' work do you go to for inspiration? 2005-04-28 - By Bernard Lebel
Back Actually, Giger is my top one.
But since I'm in lighting, I usually look into lighting inspiration. Tim Burton's movies are a great inspiration source. Movies like The Cell is also a favorite. I also liked Chicago a lot, and I really enjoy the Marilyn Manson videos.
I'd say the Pixar work is very motivating. Blur Studios is also very inspiring. But I try keep a distance with CG references.
There is also one magazine that I really find terrific for lighting and textures: Ct Est, wich is a French lifestyle/decoration magazine focusing mostly on rustic type of photography. http://www.cotesud.fr/article.php3?id_articlef3 I also enjoy a lot architecture magazines for lighting inspiration, you never loose with these.
Cheers Bernard
