I have to suspect, at this point, that you lived in a bunker for the last 29
years, with the mailing list as the only link to the external world!

How could you not have heard of Giger before?!

Anyway, some people who like to categorize everything called it Goth
Industrial or Bio-Industrial.

To find similar artists you are better off looking for them in Japanese
sites, Japan is the one nation thats most maniacal about Giger and where
most people copied his style with different levels of success.

Books about the first 2 aliens, Dune and an old art book called Dark
Renaissance (not too sure about this, Im literally translating the title of
the Italian publication) all feature his work and some interviews; one in DR
is also the only time Ive ever read Giger mentioning other artists he likes
or hes inspired from (the guy is damn good but sort of seems incredibly
full of himself usually, and not very prone to giving credit to 3rd parties)

If you are into emulation, it's also widely accepted that the best way to do
what Giger does is squashing a cockroach on top of a SMB smut magazine, scan
it and then proceed to desaturate it and blur it a bit. Job done.

Hi, my apologies for this being off topic.
I just came across this artist. I wonder if any body knows of more artists
with a similar style?
What exactly is this style called? Dark art? Dark fantasy art?

Thank you,
Luke
