importing 3d studio MAX files

You could use Deep Exploration, but you'll need MAX to open them inside
DE. But I guess you don't have access to Max, so you also cannot use the
dotXSI export from Max and import into XSI.

I'm not sure Polytrans needs MAX to convert the models to something XSI
will like. Other than that I know of no converter that can read/write
MAX files to something else.
Maybe they also offer the models in .obj or (if small) .3ds or something
else DE or Polytrans can digest and spit out as XSI compatible format??

Thanks Ed, TwigGen was indeed what I was thinking of.
Unfortunately none of the links provide a way of  importing Max files
into XSI. I have a bunch of models in that format from TurboSquid that I
need to bring in.
