Back You could use Deep Exploration, but you'll need MAX to open them inside DE. But I guess you don't have access to Max, so you also cannot use the dotXSI export from Max and import into XSI.
I'm not sure Polytrans needs MAX to convert the models to something XSI will like. Other than that I know of no converter that can read/write MAX files to something else. Maybe they also offer the models in .obj or (if small) .3ds or something else DE or Polytrans can digest and spit out as XSI compatible format??

Thanks Ed, TwigGen was indeed what I was thinking of. Unfortunately none of the links provide a way of importing Max files into XSI. I have a bunch of models in that format from TurboSquid that I need to bring in.
