Triangles vs. Squares. 2004-02-13 - By RorrKonn
Back for SDS Meshes. Quads no Tri's. SDS has nothing to do with the render engine. The Render Engine is not a factor. Take a mesh that's 100% Tri's SDS it.it looks bad.if its a human and ya bend it while its a SDS softbody looks really bad. The entire mesh is just trashed. Law for a SDS Mesh. 100% Quads." Tri's if u half to,no 5,6,7 sided etc " No Point should have more then 4 lines attached to it." 5 line dot is a must from time to time.no 6,7,8 etc lines attached to dots ."100% Tri's have 6 lined dots. Break these Laws it won't SDS Right.even that one Tri or that one 5 line dot will cause u pain but at times u half to have them in a mesh. Games 100% Tri's RorrKonn http://www.Atomic-3 (See http://mic-3.ora-code.com)D.com <http://www.Atomic-3 (See http://mic-3.ora-code.com)D.com>

Allow me to pounce on this statement to ask a question that has been bugging me for a long time.
When modeling from scratch, is it better to work with square faces or triangle ones? Is there, I don't know, greater stability over the size of the mesh's file? Does it render better one way or the other? Does it matter, or is it purely a point of personal preference?
