NAB 2005 - a bit disappointed

Sorry bad typing.  Let me try again.

The press releases coming out of NAB seem very lean this year.  None of
us were expecting anything from 3D land, but no one has said boo.
Normally www.vfxpro.com is chock full of daily press releases.

One thing that I was keen to find out about was what D2 were up to with
Softimage.  They were demoing the new Nuke on the Avid stand, which
suggests the two companies are up to something , but there has no to
been a mention of it from anyone.  And given Austodesk's announcement
about Toxic a few weeks ago, I would have expected more new there too.
All they have said is that Smoke and Flint are available on Linux (been
available for over a year now).

Apple have announced Shake 4 and FCP 5........big deal.

Anyone on the list been to the show?  Surely there must be comethign
worth mentioning.

In fact I can't seem to get much information t all about.  The only
announcement seems to be Shake 4 and FCP 5.

Pretty disappointed with the reports personally.

I don't recall you being pleased about XSI, Luke.... ;-)

As far as I can tell, the big news with XSI have always been at
Siggraph....

Cheers
Bernard
