Back Maybe I'm paranoid, but I always save "scene01.scn" and I keep incrementing. Sometimes I end up with 150 scn files, what's nice about that is that you have a history, only problem is those scene files can add up to be GBs of data. Another plus though is that if your scene files corrupts you can just step back a version. After Effects actually has a save and increment built into their save menu.

Hi Axel, Thanks for the reply, but I'm hearing autosave also gives more trouble than it's worth..... It's just plain silly having a recovery option that doesn't do the job right. crashing seems to be related with materials/texture editing. Especially when copying models, making materials local and changing names and textures for the copy. Must remind myself of the mantra: Ctrl+S.... Ctrl+S.... Ctrl+S.... Ctrl+S.... ;) rob wuijster s-5 multimedia holland

Rob, never use scene recovery!! In my experience it f***s up the scene. A trick is to activate autosave every 20 minutes or so. That way you dont loose so much work. Regarding the error message, I used to get it a lot in 4.0 but not so much in 4.2. Been a couple of months since I got it now actually.
