For your second question, maybe you could create a toolbar
for your import/merge files like this :
example for your dotXSI :
ImportDotXSI(null, null);
SetValue("PlayControl.Rate", 25, null);

Hi,
This might be found somewhere in the prefs, but I couldn't find them:
-Is there a way to have XSI remember the last construction mode it was
in when saving the file, instead of opening with modeling all the time?
-Is there a way to prevent XSI messing up my playcontrol options (25>30
fps) when merging scenes, importing .xsi or .emdl files.
I just shot a complete set of renders due to this :\
