Thanks for the reply Lyn. Times like this I wish I could do more than just
cut and paste scripts.
Can't figure out how to take out the curves and replace with nulls plotting
the animation.

Think I'm going to have to go with option number 1 and try to automate as
much as poss - not the prettiest but I should be able to get it working at
least.

I wish people had got over time-slices by now ;)

 Hey Matt
 try
 http://www.sukio.de/resources.htm
look at the plot particles script
It might get you partway there

   Hi all,

please help, I'd love to go home now but I really need to figure out a
way to plot out a particle sim and be able to reverse it - is this possible
with mixer clips somehow?

I can't find a way to plot the particles atm except to constrain objects
to them and plot those... would like to avoid that if at all poss, any
suggestions really, really, really appreciated!

   ta,
   Matt

P.S. RTFM and searched the net, can't find anything useful...
