I am just about to order a Dell 470 Workstation.
There was a cache option for the XEON processor.
I am wondering is there big different in speed between
the 1mb L3 cache XEON CPU vs the 2mb L2 cache XEON CPU?

Once I have my Opteron244 and the 3.0 XEON systems
I would be able to get you guy a rendering speed comparison.
Hopefully that should be next week.
