Back hello aleksandar As I remember GIG3D was a solid modeller on the IRIX Plattform. Maya, however, is a surface modeller and therefore the tools and the structure are pointing towards another direction in terms of approach and further development. To you I would recommend Solid Works. It is actually available on the market and uses the principles of solid modelling.
