Back ahh .. yes.. well... before brad tears down my review...or.. rather.. after he has..
i will say this..
my suggestion to buy from a place like that was ONLY if you are buying new.. and that does't avoid the ripoffs.. but.. it makes it easier to drive somewhere and fight.. vs being put on hold... and transferred eighty times...

My last experience with CompUSA (which will be my last experience with them) I brought in an older system to upgade some of the components, thinking I could be lazy and trust somebody else. Their tech got back to me a week later with the news that in order to finish the installation of new components, I would also have to buy a new power supply. After another week, the tech informed me that the new power supply wouldn't fit in my case, so I should buy a new case.
At this point, I would be spending as much on upgrading my old system as buying a new one outright, so I informed the tech that I would be canceling the upgrade. When I went to retrieve my system, the manager was there to greet me and inform me that I would be required to pay a restocking fee on all the parts I didn't purchase. He told me my choices were I could avoid the fee by going with all the upgrades or buying a new system from them. And now, I encourage the rest of you to never do business with CompUSA!!!
