real time rendering

Sorry it took so long to reply to this ... I've been traveling. As
Steven Newnham pointed out this was taken as a screen grab from the ATI
9800 demo.

It is what it is. There is no doubt that this technology will change
Truespace and all other 3D apps. You're still going to need to model,
animate and shade. What will change is waiting Hours for the result

Roman.  Any chance you're working on drivers to take advantage of the
9800 ?

You are right Shawn, Hollywood will stop spending big bucks on render
farms, though it will take them a while:) That is a real time screen
grab! Holywood better rethinks their business models:)

Scene is pre-rendered. Were it to actually render all that glass in real
time with an IBL (Image Based Light) like that, it wouldn't even come
close to 1-2 minutes in trueSpace, let alone anything approaching real
time. Were it able to do that in real time, then Hollywood wouldn't be
spending big bucks on render farms to make movies. Sorry. But it is a
very nice image.
