Metaballs....

Metaballs....

And what about those already hard earned client that ask for it?
Maybe in the longer run they just won't renew their license and get
something that's missing less features?

The right balance of useful features(client requests) and "marketable
features" should be studied...Metaballs and Particles(I had to plug that
one right here;) ) have been asked for what? 2-3 years now?

Just thinking out loud..I know Soft is not silly...but sometimes you
wonder
why something that they already have the basic code(soft 3D) takes ages
to implement...of course they'll have to upgrade it for XSI and make it
better but it's probably less of an hassle than to write it from the
ground up.

When Chinny was visiting our company we had a nice lengthy conversation
with
him. He explained to us very clearly that there were no plans for
Softimage
to develop metaballs. He told us that the reason behind this was that
they
didn't see that adding metaballs would cause them to sell more seats of
XSI,
thus had no intention of adding it. This was approximately 4 months ago.

Sorry for the bad news.

I can only apologise for this but I have to get this off my
chest........ again.......

For the love of god, is there any hope/word/prayer that we might have
metaballs in the future?.... It's kind of embarrassing to have to
explain to a client (obviously I don't *actually* explain) why their
tampon/shampoo/detergant ad is going to take twice as long they expected

purely because I have to fart around with particles that i can't even
shade properly..... It's a shampoo ad for god's sake! It's the bread and

butter of post houses around the world.... and at the moment trying to
get this done is like pulling teeth.

Chinny, please, nail-gun this one to the old bonce... pretty please.

Rant over.... sorry 'bout that..... as you were....
