Sharing overrides

Sharing overrides

Hi,

Is it possible in 4.2 to share an override?

I have a quite heavy scene and the displacement is the same in the
entire scene. I use an override on the partition to drive the
displacement but whenever I have to change something I have to copy and
paste this override to all the other passes and partitions (I do this by
a script but it still take time).
What I would like to have is a way to share overrides between different
passes so I could just change the displacement in one pass and it would
be changed throughout the scene.

Currently not possible??

<rant>
And material locks is still driving me insane.... if you want to change
a material in a partition that use an override it is locked and you have
to cut the override or move it to an empty partition to be able to
change the material. This is a major workflow-killer in my opinon and I
hope Softimage will give us the choice to unlock materials or set the
default lock behaviour to on or off in the next release. I could see the
use for a larger studio where you dont want people to touch your shaders
but it should not be impossible to turn this behaviour OFF.
<end rant>

Cheers,
Axel
